Current Trials
Epeius Biotechnologies is bringing genetic medicine to the patient
Clinical Trials Using Rexin-G®
Epeius is currently conducting a number of clinical trials in the U.S. and abroad for Rexin-G, as therapeutic intervention for metastatic or locally advanced cancers. Based on profound evidence of single-agent efficacy in a broad spectrum of chemo-resistant tumors, Rexin-G has been approved for use in "all solid tumors" in the Philippines. Consequently, many patients from around the world are currently being treated by top oncologists in Manila, and a number of provisions have been made to facilitate this medical opportunity for qualifying patients and their families.
Following the completion of several years of safety studies at the Mayo Clinic, Epeius has undertaken an ambitious program to bring Rexin-G® to cancer patients in the United States. In the summer of 2007, Epeius opened three Advanced Phase I/II Clinical trials:
- Sarcomas of all types (having failed or are intolerant to chemotherapy)
- Breast Cancer (having failed or are intolerant to std. chemotherapy)
- Pancreatic Cancer (having failed or are intolerant to gemcitabine)
These advanced clinical trials of Rexin-G are centered in San Marino, California, where Epeius Biotechnologies Corp. has its headquarters, and in Santa Monica, where Dr. Sant Chawla, M.D., a renowned expert on malignant sarcomas serves as Principal Investigator (PI). Additionally, a second site for breast and pancreatic cancer has opened in New York, with Dr. Howard Bruckner, M.D., a renowned expert in gastrointestinal and breast cancer, serving as PI.
August 2009: Epeius successfully completed its Advanced Phase I/II and confirmatory Phase II trials for pancreatic cancer, sarcoma, and osteosarcoma, respectively, with all primary and secondary endpoints achieved. Consequently, Rexin-G has received Fast Track Status and priorities from the U.S. FDA and is in the process of applying for accelerated approval(s) for these clinical indications. For additional information on current treatment options in the U.S. and abroad, please contact Dr. Erlinda M. Gordon directly: egordon@epeiusbiotech.com.
Global Development: With the global demand for Rexin-G increasing, Epeius is actively engaged in the development of additional trials and additional treatment centers in the United States and around the world.
Clinical Trials Using Reximmune-C®
Manila, Philippines, February, 2009: Reximmune-C for cancer vaccination. A limited number of patients who have previously benefited from Rexin-G will be treated with Reximmune-C (in combination with Rexin-G) to study gains in overall survival.
