Epeius Biotechnology Corporation
Named after the master architect Epeius of the Illiad—who was inspired by Athena in a dream—Epeius designed the Trojan Horse that turned the course of the battle, and thus the war, and thus the course of history.
Epeius Biotechnologies Corp.
Represents the commitment of science and engineering in the service of an unmet medical need of contemporary society—Targeted Delivery for Metastatic Cancer. Scientists at Epeius Biotech developed the world’s first tumor-targeted delivery system (or vector) that transports genes or other therapeutic agents directly and selectively to diseased tissues in the body. This pathotropic, or disease-seeking, targeting technology enabled Epeius Biotech to develop Rexin-G, the first tumor-targeted, systemically injectable gene delivery system that has been demonstrated to be safe and effective, when used as a single therapeutic agent, in clinical trials conducted internationally.
Lead Product Development:
Rexin-G is highly active in a broad spectrum of chemo-resistant tumor types with significant anti-cancer activity and an exceptional safety profile. After extensive testing, Rexin-G was approved for use in the treatment of all solid tumors in the Philippines and is currently in clinical trials in the United States for metastatic breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, and osteosarcoma. For the latter three of these four cancer indications, Rexin-G was granted Orphan Drug status by the U.S. FDA. The commercialization of Rexin-G was followed by the development of Reximmune-C, a tumor-targeted immune-modulating agent—a personalized cancer vaccine designed to stimulate a patient’s own immunity and thereby prolong remission.
Corporate Development:
Epeius remains a privately held biopharmaceutical company with a razor-sharp focus on this unmet medical need and a strong sense of social, as well as fiscal, responsibility. Epeius is committed to the development of superior anti-cancer agents that seek out and destroy metastatic disease, for the benefit of countless cancer patients as well as its shareholders. Meanwhile, Epeius Biotech actively seeks to expedite the development of its lead products and its pipeline of targeted therapeutics and enabling biotechnologies through international affiliations, strategic alliances, value-added investors, and partnerships with capable firms.
